My Top Three Tips for Transforming a Space on a Budget

1. PAINT! I personally really hate house painting, but it truly is the most inexpensive way to transform your space.

2. Throw cushions—the more the merrier!

3. Plants and flowers—we cannot get enough of greenery around the house. Even if you have a total black thumb, there are some amazing faux planters these days so you can still appreciate the look.

One of My Greatest Life Lessons

Trust your gut. If you feel like something’s not right, it's probably not. Even if it’s business relationships, ordering stock, hiring new employees or whatever, if it’s not a “hell yes,” it’s a no for me.

What I Wish I Had Known When I Started

When I first started, I felt like I had to be something to everyone and had to appeal to every customer in order to be successful. I stocked items that I knew would sell, but I didn’t necessarily love or feel passionate about. I soon learnt that wasn’t sustainable, so my new mantra is “I have to love it to sell it,” and I have never been happier. The stock has never been more amazing, and our business keeps on growing. I realized I just needed to stay true to myself and the rest would follow.

“More is more, less is a bore”—a personal favorite of mine!
